If i type www.google.com in the address bar i am redirected to searchportal.info.Why?

Your browser is being hijacked. Halt your internet connection and scan your system for spywares and eliminate them. Do not allow internet connection for any port until your system is clean again.

To download Windows Defender from Microsoft click below.

You have spyware, my friend. Get spybot, avg, and/or spydoctor and run em. Also consider hijack this
Go to http://www.microsoft.com/, download and run Microsoft Antispyware (I think they call it Microsoft Defender now?). That should help clean up your system.
Some unscrupulous companies use advertisements to automatically begin the installation process for their programs. By default, most browsers prompt you with a security warning to either continue or stop the installation process. Typically, these warnings don't offer a description of the program or tell you what it will do.

When you launch the "Anti-Spy" feature from the Yahoo! Toolbar and press the 'Begin Scan' button, Yahoo! Anti-Spy scans your computer against a list of known applications that display these unwanted behavior. You can decide to review, remove or add to the Allow list any applications found in a scan.
Unfortunately I think your browser has been hacked, another sign might be that your home page is no longer what you had assigned.

You might want to run a good Antivirus scan and also a spyware scan.

Look up in google for "searchportal.info cures" or words to that effect.

Unfortunately browser hacks are normally pretty hard to get rid of. I can help a bit further if you would like, just contact me, although I will warn you it is a long and laborious process.

Sorry, but hope it helps
well, all the above could be true, but also, perhaps you have an otdated cache of that page.

so, click on Tools, Internet Options, and there click on Delete Cookies, Delete Files -%26gt; Offline Content aswell and then press Shift+F5 -%26gt; this will refresh the current page.

Now, try and go to google.com

If it doesn't work... try and scan your PC for spyware and viruses.

Good day.
